Bryan has an MSEd in Counseling that he obtained from Northern Illinois University. He has worked with children, young adults, and adults as a therapist in Illinois and Iowa. He has also spent more than 20 years in youth ministry and hold a Masters of Divinity. Bryan is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in the state of Iowa.

He has specialty/interest areas in working with youth, children, and adults as they address problem solving/conflict resolution, depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral issues, grief/loss, and spiritual issues. He also has a heart for church staff and desires to help Christian ministry workers process personal or church-related issues.
He believes that counseling is a transformational process, one where thoughts, emotions, actions, and beliefs are examined and adjusted to bring about healing and positive change. This is done is a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can learn, develop, and grow. Theoretically, Bryan uses a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral approaches, Systems Theory (the idea that all people are connected and impact each other), and Solution-Focused approaches and strategies.
